De op een na meest bezochte stad van Frankrijk is Nice. Nice ligt aan de prachtige Middellandse Zeekust en heeft als inspiratiebron gediend voor beroemde artiesten als Marc Chagall en Henri Matisse, samen met de Italiaanse componist Rossini en de Duitse filosoof Nietzsche. Hoewel er sinds het begin der tijden mensen in het gebied wonen, duurde het tot de jaren 1800 toen het de ontsnapping werd die het nu is. Milde zomers en winters maken het een bestemming voor het hele jaar door.
